About Us Programs We offer comprehensive group care programming for at-risk male adolescents through our Adolescent Group Care programs, alternative middle school classes for behaviorally reassigned and special education students at the Southeastern Education Center, and quality child care and pre-school for children 6 weeks to 12 years old at our Circle of Friends Childcare Center and Preschool. Mission & Philosophy Southeastern strives to accomplish our mission to assist young children, at-risk adolescents and their families to develop life skills that enable them to mature and become productive members of our community by: Employing quality, professional staff; Providing a caring and safe environment; Promoting physical, emotional and social stability; Tailoring programs to meet individual needs; Maximizing effectiveness through successful collaborations. Far Reaching Benefits Southeastern Youth & Family Services has never stopped caring and working to help abused, troubled and delinquent youth see a brighter future. Every youth who achieves success represents the addition of a contributing member of our society. Number Served In 2007 Southeastern Youth and Family Services, Inc. served over 324 children, including 72 adolescents in group homes, 27 First Time Juvenile Offenders, 151 middle school students, and 74 children in day care. History Southeastern Youth and Family Services, Inc. (originally Southeastern Wisconsin Homes, Inc.) was founded April 25, 1973 to provide group home care and group treatment that had been developed initially and run directly by the State of Wisconsin, State Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Family Services. In 1978, Southeastern was licensed as a child placement agency, and began providing direct social services to our clients and their families. Since then, Southeastern expanded its services to include AODA treatment and relapse prevention and therapy services; an alternative middle school for behaviorally reassigned Milwaukee Public School students; and a day care program for children aged six week to twelve years.
